LOVE FOR KIDS, INC.
TOY LIBRARY PROGRAM

Love For Kids has purchased the rights from the USA Toy Library Association to
select and operate Toy Library sites in the Dallas metroplex. We are currently
expanding our "Toy Library" program and have included sites in Ft. Worth and
the Mid-cities.
A Toy Library operates in the same manner as a book library. New, educational
toys are made available to a center/agency. These toys can be "checked out" by
children as one would a library book or played with at your facility. The toys
are then returned, in good condition, by the due date on their check-out card.
Or they can be used "on site" for after school and daycare activities.
Funding for this program and the purchase of toys, is provided by the
Dallas/Fort Worth Supporters of Children's Charities and their annual
fundraising Gala. The cabinets have been built by the
Telephone Pioneers and Freeman
Decorating. LOVE FOR KIDS selects the sites, purchases the toys and
manages the program with the selected agency.
Love For Kids Toy Library Chairman, Debra Lakin
reviews possible site locations and makes recommendations to the Love For Kids
Board of Directors for approval. When approved, arrangements are made to build
and deliver a special toy cabinet filled with toys. Children and parents from
the center/agency are then invited to a special presentation of the cabinet and
toys, and refreshments provided by Love For Kids
Currently, Love For Kids has placed 17 cabinets in various locations and will
be reviewing another 5 locations this year. If you are interested in working
